How to convert an off shoulder dress into work attire (Werk It Wednesday)

The beauty of an off shoulder dress is not only the ease with which it makes a fashion statement but also how boldly it shows the collar bone. Oh and nothing beats showing the collar bones. See, Wednesday is literally midweek, just about the time being chic rocks. It’s the time to tone down the official look at least for a Werk It Wednesday. This Wednesday, I decided to go a little out of the ordinary… to redefine style.

Remember this off the shoulder dress from the last post?  from Charlotte Russe.I repurpose this dress to convert it into a drape collar dress to make it more work attire.  This dress is literally flawless. The shoulder collar had a unique design. A top layer of wide gathers. It was a beautiful mini dress. Pulled up, it created the impression of an infinity scarf. This look is quite casual and elegant. It is a unique way to wear an off the shoulder dress. I went with this.

I chose to compliment this outfit with a black leather jacket picked from my closet. This jacket, studded just sufficiently and designed not to overlap at its lapels was a perfect match for the dress I was looking to showcase. The front of the dress remained in view.

In a bid to complete and accessorize the outfit, I picked from my collection, a pair of thigh high boots that went up to almost the hem of my dress. This helped to spice up the look because it makes for quite a show. These velvet boots are body hugging and eye-catching. It spiced up the look. To complete the outfit, I chose a silver long chain necklace that fell graciously on the dress.
